WHAT IS CENTRAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
In a centralized or community LPG gas distribution system, a central LPG storage tank is installed above or below ground in a low visibility, the LPG storage tank is connected to various utility appliances through a network of engineered LPG pipelines and accessories, such as vaporizers, emergency shut down systems, gas leak detection systems and installed gas meter. Centralized systems are flexible, and it can be made up of a few houses or thousands of houses.
WHAT IS LPG GAS
Liquefied petroleum gas or LPG is a fossil fuel that’s found naturally, alongside natural gas and oil. LPG is separated from natural gas during processing, often using refrigeration—so contrary to popular belief, LPG isn’t made from natural gas but is extracted from it. LPG is also extracted from heated crude oil using a distillation tower. Once the LPG is isolated, it’s pressurized so it can be stored as a liquid in the cylinders and tanks and transported to the varies destination
In addition to its use as a fuel for cooking and heating, LPG is also important for use in manufacturing applications, as a fuel for cars, and it can be used to power cogeneration energy plants.
LPG STORAGE TANKS
LPG storage tanks come in all different sizes and vary in use from powering your cooking to heating your home, and always operating with the highest efficiency.
Tank sizes range from portable 20-lb. containers to tanks that can hold over 2,000 gallons. The size of the LPG tank will depend on the number of the household as well as the number and size of appliances using gas.
LPG STORAGE TANK INSTALLATION
The installation of centralized LPG storage tanks can be placed above ground or underground
ABOVE GROUND LPG TANKS
Above ground come in several common sizes ranging from 100 gallons to 1,500 gallons. Above ground tanks cost less and are quicker to install than below ground LPG tanks. They also allow for easier access for maintenance. Unlike underground tanks, above ground tanks are visible but can be hidden with landscaping or fencing, but it must follow the local codes and safety requirements.
UNDERGROUND LPG TANKS
Underground LPG tanks come in multiple sizes ranging from 250 gallons to 1,500 gallons. Underground LPG tanks handle colder and extreme temperatures better than above ground tanks. Underground tanks may also increase the perceived value of your home when compared to an above- ground tank since only the tank dome is exposed for filling and maintenance. Underground tank installation requires excavation and may also require a permit in certain jurisdictions. Underground tanks are more costly and take longer time to install than above ground tanks.

Distance requirements apply to LPG tanks and their connections in terms of what surrounds them. Consideration needs to be made as to where you can legally and safely place your tank. Factors include whether the property is your office or home, and how far the tank is from other tanks, driveways, and the property line.
Permit requirements for LPG tank installations vary by state and municipality. All regulations and codes must be followed. Sijasa representatives can assist in determining what requirements may be applied, and often are able to help and satisfy them.
About LPG
LPG is one of the most widely used alternative fuels in the world. It’s safe, clean, powerful, and reliable—and it’s mostly use for cooking and house heating-
It’s eco-friendly.
Since LPG is a low-carbon fuel, it burns cleaner and powers more efficiently than natural gas, fuel oil, diesel, and even electricity. When compared with electric, LPG appliances can dramatically reduce energy costs and environmental impact.
It’s safe.
LPG is nontoxic and emits less than half the greenhouse gases that electricity does. It has the lowest flammability of any alternative fuel. Since LPG doesn’t spill, pool, or leave a residue, tank leaks won’t contaminate water or soil, and won’t cause damage to your home or family
It’s affordable.
LPG is domestically available and in high supply, so pricing is often lower and more stable than other energy sources. Since LPG-powered appliances are energy-efficient, you save on energy costs, and many states offer incentives for using clean alternative fuels like LPG.
